Inside The Architecture

Apex Core, AMD platform — Vortex Reaver.

The Vortex Reaver is the AMD Apex Core build for UAE gamers who want a modern Zen 5 + DDR5 foundation with serious upgrade headroom for next-gen GPUs. It pairs AMD’s brand-new Ryzen 5 9600X with the entry-class RTX 5050 8GB — running 1080p competitive esports at 240+ FPS today, with a Socket AM5 path to Ryzen 9 chips and a DDR5/PCIe 5.0 board ready for whatever GPU you drop in next.

Built on the AM5 platform

Where the Pulse Striker uses Intel’s 12th-gen platform, the Vortex Reaver runs Zen 5 — six current-gen cores with materially better single-threaded gaming performance and a longer upgrade runway. The B850M motherboard supports the full Ryzen 9000 line, 16GB of DDR5 is in place (with a free slot for an easy 32GB upgrade), and the 650W PSU has headroom for a meaningful GPU jump when you want one.

What it runs today

  • Valorant, CS2, Apex Legends, Fortnite — 240+ FPS at 1080p competitive presets (Zen 5 lifts minimum framerates over Intel 12th-gen)
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Warzone — 144+ FPS at high settings, 1080p
  • Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy — 60-90 FPS at high with DLSS, 1080p

Why AED 1,300 more than the Pulse Striker?

Same GPU, same RAM capacity, same storage. What you’re paying AED 1,300 more for is the platform — Ryzen 9000 instead of Intel 12th-gen, DDR5 instead of DDR4, an AM5 socket with future CPU upgrade options instead of end-of-life LGA1700. If you plan to step up to an RTX 5070 / 5080 in the next 18 months, this is the platform to do it on. If you’re staying on 1080p esports today and don’t care about upgrade path, save the cash with the Pulse Striker.

Clarifications

Questions Answered

Is the Ryzen 5 9600X better than the Intel i5-12400F?
Yes — 9600X is current-gen Zen 5 with materially stronger single-threaded performance, faster cores, and a modern AM5 platform with future CPU upgrade options. The 12400F is from 2022 on the end-of-life LGA1700 socket.
Can I upgrade just the GPU later on this build?
Yes — that’s the whole point. The 650W PSU is sized for an RTX 5070 today, and the B850M board has PCIe 5.0 x16 for current and next-gen cards.
Can I upgrade the RAM later?
Yes — the B850M board ships with the 16GB module in one of two DDR5 slots. Drop in a matching 16GB stick later for 32GB dual-channel without replacing anything.
Warranty?
